Freelance Travel Writer
Various Clients | Remote | September 2019-Present
I research and write one to two travel articles (800 to 5,000 words) per client every week. By implementing the best SEO and SEM practices, these articles improve each publication’s monthly number of visitors and encourage visitors to make relevant purchases. When applicable, I also source up to thirty appropriate photos for the articles and upload the articles to the appropriate platform (e.g. CMS, Wordpress, Squarespace).
Creator and Writer
Borders & Bucket Lists | Kapolei, HI | June 2016-Present
I write four SEO-friendly stories per month about Hawaii through a local's perspective. I then upload these stories using Wordpress, source non-copyrighted photos, and draw in readers through various social media platforms. These articles contribute about 35,000+ views to the website each month. To further this fantastic website growth, I analyze the user traffic data through Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
Adjunct Professor
New York University | Remote | March 2021-January 2022
I was hired to teach the "Global Presentations: Words, Images, and Data" course for NYU's Certificate in Professional Writing. The goal of this course is to ensure that students learn how to write, depict, and talk about other cultures and groups in a respectful, aware manner.
Editorial Intern
Disney Trippers | Remote | September 2019 - January 2020
I wrote two Disney-related, SEO-friendly articles each week for Disney Trippers to improve the number of unique visitors accessing the website each month. Each article contained a minimum of 2,000 words. I then uploaded these articles to a Wordpress-based platform.
Web Editorial Intern
HONOLULU Magazine | Honolulu, HI | May 2018-July 2018
As a member of the web editorial team, I wrote one to three engaging articles on local events, hikes, and activities each week. I uploaded these stories and those written by other members of the team to the HONOLULU Magazine online website using CMS. I also maintained part of the HONOLULU Magazine's social media platforms, including Twitter and Pinterest, in order to increase traffic to the magazine's website.
