HONOLULU Magazine is the most well-known magazine in Hawaii. Unlike many of its competitors, HONOLULU Magazine caters to locals — rather than tourists — by showcasing local eateries, activities, festivals, hikes, and more.

HONOLULU Magazine was my first introduction to the writing world. I interned at this prestigious publication during the summer of 2018. During that time, I learned how to upload articles using CMS, source non-copyrighted photos, write engaging stories by showing not telling, and increase website traffic through social media marketing.
While the hiking articles were my favorites, I also wrote pieces on weekend events, monthly concerts, and special holidays.
